Intraday Brokerage Calculator formula

Total brokerage is capped brokerage on both buy and sell turnover; net result subtracts it from gross profit.

The calculator estimates brokerage separately on buy and sell turnover, applies the entered cap to each order, and subtracts the result from the gross intraday price movement.

How to interpret the result

A positive net result means the price difference exceeds the brokerage entered. It is not the final contract-note result unless every applicable statutory and exchange charge is also included.

Worked example

Enter the rate and cap from your broker’s current tariff rather than assuming all brokers charge the same.

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter values from the same transaction or scenario.
  2. Confirm that quantities, dates, rates and currency match the labels.
  3. Review the result and change one assumption at a time when comparing scenarios.

Common mistakes

  • Entering a delivery brokerage plan instead of the intraday tariff.
  • Counting brokerage on only one side of the trade.
  • Treating the result as total profit after every tax and charge.

Limitations

The result includes brokerage only. STT, exchange charges, GST, stamp duty, SEBI fees, slippage and income-tax treatment are outside this estimate.
