NSE Market Timings in India
The regular NSE equity market operates on eligible trading days in India, with separate pre-open and normal-market sessions.

The normal equity market session generally runs from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM Indian Standard Time. Saturdays, Sundays, notified exchange holidays, and exceptional closures are not normal trading days.
A pre-open session occurs before normal trading and helps establish opening prices. Exact session rules and special trading announcements should always be confirmed on the official NSE website.
Why the market may be closed
The market may be closed for a weekend, an announced trading holiday, or an exceptional exchange decision. Muhurat trading and other special sessions can use different hours.
Check the timestamp
A displayed market status and a security quote answer different questions. A market may be open while a third-party quote remains delayed, so always check the data timestamp.
