How to calculate average stock price
Multiply the number of shares in each purchase by its buy price, add those investment values, and divide the total by the total number of shares. Brokerage, taxes, and other charges are not included.
Stock average price formula
Average price = Total amount invested ÷ Total shares purchased. A lower average price does not by itself make an investment safer or more profitable.
