Stock Split Calculator formula

New shares = Old shares × Split ratio; Adjusted price = Old price ÷ Split ratio.

A split changes share count and theoretical per-share price by reciprocal proportions. Immediately after the mathematical adjustment, the position value is unchanged before market movement.

How to interpret the result

The adjusted price is theoretical. Actual trading can move above or below it once the market reflects supply, demand and new information.

Worked example

In a 2-for-1 split, 100 shares become 200 and a 200 price adjusts theoretically to 100.
