What is SIP in a mutual fund?
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) invests a fixed amount in a mutual fund at regular intervals. Returns are market-linked and are not guaranteed.
How is SIP return calculated?
SIP estimates compound each periodic investment for the time it remains invested. Actual mutual fund returns vary with NAV movements, expenses, taxes and the timing of each instalment.
What is NAV in a mutual fund?
Net Asset Value (NAV) is the per-unit value of a mutual fund scheme after accounting for its assets and liabilities.
How do I calculate average stock price?
Add the cost of every purchase and divide it by the total shares bought. Use the weighted average—not a simple average of purchase prices.
What is market capitalization?
Market capitalization is the company share price multiplied by its total outstanding shares. It is commonly used to group companies as large-cap, mid-cap or small-cap.
What is a P/E ratio?
The price-to-earnings ratio compares a share price with earnings per share. It can help compare valuation, but should be considered with growth, debt, sector and earnings quality.
What are support and resistance?
Support is a recent price area where buying has appeared; resistance is an area where selling has appeared. They are observations, not guaranteed reversal points.
What is dividend yield?
Dividend yield is annual dividend per share divided by the share price, expressed as a percentage. Dividends can be changed or stopped.
Is the stock market open today?
NSE regular trading normally runs Monday to Friday from 9:15 AM to 3:30 PM IST, excluding exchange holidays.
Can stock prices be predicted for tomorrow?
No method can predict tomorrow’s price with certainty. Statistical ranges and trend indicators describe probabilities and recent behaviour, while news and market gaps can invalidate them.
